Supported by a network of institutions, private collections, and photographers, the portal aims to promote and preserve Catalan photography, making it accessible to national and international audiences. Named in honor of Ramón Alabern, who captured Spain's first photograph in 1839, the portal also includes a curated catalog of 600 prominent photographers from Catalonia. This selection spans all eras and styles, featuring works from public and private collections, and continues to expand, honoring contributions to Catalonia's social, political, and artistic landscape.
